Beautiful views from the cabins on the East side. They are pretty private and it's nice because we don't drink or party and sometimes it's hard to separate from others who are out partying all night. Cabins do not have electricity or water but it was fine for what we needed. It says on the website that the one we rented sleeps six but there were just two beds. One was a bunk bed and another a full sized single. Rentals are a little pricey for what's included. It was $140 for two nights and you cannot put any additional tents or anything on the property without paying extra. Showers take tokens, which you have to buy from the office. Tokens are $0.25 each and get you about 5-7 minutes per token. That's not expensive but for the overall price, showers should be included. There are outhouses located throughout the park and most of them are fairly clean but do not usually have toilet paper. Overall we had a good experience but there are some things that could be improved.
This campground was awesome - and affordable. We managed to get a primitive spot on Labor Day weekend last minute - literally RIGHT ON THE LAKE. Set up a couple tents and hammocks. The lake is beautiful - there is a boat launch on site. I was only there for one night so I donβt know all the ins and outs - but all bathroom facilities were super clean. People were having fun for sure, yet being respectful. I plan on going back to learn more about this place - it was new to me - but you could tell it was a lot of families secret get away. Lots of RV camping sites it seemed. Signs said they had cabins and other things available as well.
We love it here. Always on the summer trip list. Laid back & friendly staff. Great trails in & around. So close to the dam, which has fantastic canoe or tube access. It's an outdoor lovers' dream come true here. My favorite part is having sites on both sides!! Cabins are beautiful. Watching this place evolve over the years has been so much fun! Cant wait to see what they come up with next! π
The park is always clean and quiet. I love that it's right on the water with beach access!
This has been our favorite place to camp for 20 years!
Definitely will be back! The owners are very accommodating! The cabins are cute and clean! Very well priced 55$ a night. No electric in the back cabins. They do have camp sites as well
I absolutely love that they are affiliated with the canoe rental around the corner. They will deliver your boat, canoe or kayak for FREE on the east primitive areas and pick it up for FREE, and you have it for 24 hours. I recommend a better beach area and possibly cleaning up behind the east primitive camping. My husband and I went for a walk down the trail behind our site 112 and there was a bunch of old storage all along both sides. We ended the trail at a BEAUTIFUL waterfront area with a picnic table, gorgeous site to see, only there was a dead deer body with its head off!! The head was found not far from there lol sounds weird but that body had been there a while, the park management or rangers really should have already had it taken care of by the time we seen it. Other than that, PERFECT place for kids, reasonable cabin rental prices too! PLEASE make a better beach and me and my family will be there all summer long lol and PLEASE spray for bugs in the rustic areas!
Love this campground! All the necessities and lots of wildlife!!! Very large and spread out, made for great morning walks. Watch out for the chickens! π absolutely beautiful area, will definitely return!!! ππΌππΌ β¦
